Victoria Hall at the Serena Hotel in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, on Friday evening hosted a high-level cultural and intellectual event marked by the launch of the book “Uganda Since 1986” by Ugandan ambassador and thinker Dickson Ogwang Okul. The ceremony was attended by a wide official, popular, diplomatic, cultural, and media audience.

During the event, Ambassador Dickson delivered an introductory reflection as part of his invitation message to his companions and friends, inspired by his upcoming book “Love Me Before I Know Him: Love Beyond Knowledge and Separation.” In it, he addressed the human and spiritual dimension of love, affirming that divine love precedes knowledge, affiliation, and belief, and constitutes the authentic foundation of the relationship between human beings and their Lord, and between human beings themselves.

In his speech, Ogwang explained that the message of the book is based on the idea that love is not a reward for achievement nor a compensation for behavior, but rather the starting point in human life.

He called for the consolidation of the values of tolerance, unity, and humility, and for the rejection of division and hatred, citing several biblical texts that reinforce the concept of faith rooted in love.

The Ain El Hagega platform and newspaper participated in the event through its senior management, accompanying the event both in attendance and media coverage, and contributing to conveying the proceedings of the launch and covering its activities across its various social media platforms with professionalism and high standards, reflecting the cultural and intellectual momentum surrounding the event.

In its coverage, the Ain El Hagega family praised the Ugandan experience and the achievements Uganda has made at both the political and developmental levels, expressing its pride in the journey of the Ugandan people, government and citizens alike, and in what this accumulation represents as a success story in its regional and international environment.

The event also served as an occasion to recall the pivotal milestones in Uganda’s modern history and to highlight its path of transformation, reconstruction, and stability, in an atmosphere characterized by celebration and pride in national achievements, as well as the growing role of culture and thought in promoting the values of peace and coexistence.
